What a great and ambitious list and how well-read you are. So many of my favorites on here ending with the best of all. Congrats!1 Patti

Steve Allan said...

You actually read through all the books? I really wasn't expecting anyone to look these over.

John Rickards said...

There's me! Gawd bless ya, guv.

Steve Allan said...

John, I keep meaning to e-mail you on why in the hell anyone would set a book around Houlton, Maine. Great book, though.

Sandra Ruttan said...

Hell man, what a list!

Steve Allan said...

Really, what's wrong with you people? I didn't even read through the list. From what I've skimmed, there are typoes and other embarrassments.

John Rickards said...

For the thing to work, I really needed it set in the arse end of nowhere - Houlton seemed perfect. I suppose the real question is whether or not I got anywhere near the reality with it, though.

For ages I've been shitting myself at the thought of having a Mainer read the thing and savage me for utterly cocking up that end of the state.

Steve Allan said...

How about a Mainer with family from Houlton?

I'll read any list of books or movies. Never know when something new will hit me. And several did here.

Steve Allan said...

Well, whatever you found interesting, I hope you like it. Which ones anyway?

Stephen Blackmoore said...

Impressive list. I feel so inadequate.

What's your thesis, again?

Steve Allan said...

This bibliography is for my creative thesis, which is my novel. I did have to write a critical thesis, which was on anti-heroes in noir fiction.

... eek ...
